OUTDOOR TRACK SEASON

6/4/ TEAM DINNER-  MASS AT 6 P.M.  Dinner and awards to follow in Larkin Hall.  Tickets are $13 They can be bought in the Athletic Office. Shirt and Tie must be worn. All recent Alumni are encouraged to come and bid Mr. V and Mr. Langstine a fond farewell as they prepare to leave Xavier.  You can email Mr. Dormer to let us know if you are coming.

6/2 Eastern States Champs-  Keivyn Graves brings home the final medal of the year, placing 3rd in the long jump.  We post fastest times in 800 relay and 1600 relay of the season.

5/25 CHSAA CITY Champs-  The meet was highlighted by Redden's school record in the steeple and Graves' 20'5" leap in the Long Jump.  3 Hurdlers made the semis and some big pr's among the underclassmen.

5/17 NYCHSAA Champs- Outstanding performance for Caufield in the 800, Graves in the Long Jump and the 400 Relay. All of which take 2nd in their events.  Dan Blanco grabs the Varsity discus record with a toss of 110'. 3 Hurdlers score in the 110 Hurdles.

5/9 Loucks - Kitson grabs 5th in the Pent, LaPiedra pr's in the 3200 run.

5/10 Frosh Soph City Champs-  Burgess and Assent win the 110 Hurdles in a dead heat.  Fagan takes 2nd in the Frosh Javelin. 

5/7 Novice weight Champs-  Some good performances for an afternoon meet.  Imbert wins Junior High Jump and the Frosh 3200 relay wins

5/4- Jesuits-  Some great efforts by a few individuals.  Mike long get Iron man award doing 7 events.   A few sophs come up big and score in the Varsity events.  Pat Kitson jumps 5'9" in High Jump. Tim Farrer takes 2nd in the 100, Kitson, Burgess and Assent 2,3,and 4 in Hurdles.

4/30- Frosh /Soph Sectionals- A great effort by the Sophs posting 35 point.  Burgess and Farrer take sectional crowns.  Will Imbert and Leo Mordiasini place in 2 field events each.  On the Freshman side, John Fagan resets the Frosh Jav record to take 2nd, Kang places in the High Jump and 110 Hurdles and Peralta takes 3rd in the mile.

4/25-4/26 Penn Relays-  Matt Redden runs 8:48 for the 3000 Meters. (converts to a 9:24 2 mile.)

4/21- Iona Meet-  Matt Redden, Jamie Peralta, John Fagan and Dan Blanco all claimed school records at the Iona Meet.  Full Results to come soon.

4/17  CHSAA Relay Carnival-  The weather still refuses to cooperate, but this does not slow down Matt redden who cruised to victory in the 3000 Steeple in record time.  Scott LaPiedra took 5th in his debut in the event.  Check out results.  Also Penn Info

4/16  Vacation Schedule- Here is all the info you need for break.  If you are going to miss, please let me know today

4/15 NYCHSAA Weight Champs-  A weight team of 10 take 3rd place after the bus gets lost.  3 Sectional Champs.  Some big pr's

4/12 Nanuet Relays-  Some great races.  The team placed 3rd despite not being at full strength.  Hurdlers come up big take 1st in the the 330 Shuttle Hurdle and 2nd in the 1200 Intermediate Hurdle relays.  Mike Patti leads the freshmen with a 2:18 pr in the 800.  22 medals are won.


4/5 Colonial Relays and Mount Relays-  Great weather down south as team posts fastest DMR time of the year so far.  Meanwhile winter return up north as the Freshmen nab 3rd place medals.  Check out the Buddha Belly.

3/29  Bishop Ford Relays-  Caufield flies to 1:57 spilt to start the season off right.  High Jumper and Hurdlers medal despite less that perfect condition

INDOOR TRACK SEASON

3/8  NY State Champs.  The journey up north produces a State Champ.  Matt Redden Leads the Intersectional Relay to Victory.

3/2 Coogan's 5K- Batista hits 18:07 and Caro runs 21:07 in the driving rain

2/22 Mayor's Meet-  3 Sophomore School records fall at this meet.  Ed Cullen lowers the Soph 55 Hurdle Record to 8.11, The Soph 800 Relay posts a 1:40.1 which best a 36 year old school record, and The Soph 3200 Relay run 8:52 to better the school record by 3 seconds.

2/16 Varsity City Champs- An inspired effort at Cities.  Matt Redden takes 3rd in the 3200 in 9:34 in a school record time, James Caufield runs the most exciting race of the day in the 600 meters taking 2nd in the 600 by .03 seconds setting the school record (1:22.33). Ed Cullen places 3rd in Varsity High Hurdles. 


2/8 Frosh and Soph Cities- Sophs rise to the challenge and place 3rd. Highest finish in school history for Soph cities.  Eddie Cullen takes the 55 Hurdle Crown.  3200 relay takes 2nd place 2 seconds off school record.  Frosh lead by Jamie Perlata, who takes 2nd in the 1000 

2/1 Jesuit Champs- In the best effort so far, we had a lead with 3 events to go.  Outstanding performances. Gold Medal won in the Soph SMR, Varsity 3200 Relay, COmbo Relay,and Shuttle Hurdle Relay.

Alumni Note at the  Metropolitan Championships, Rob DeAngelo('02) beat Jerry Alcoser('01) in the 60 Meter Hurdles 8.68 to 8.74. It was the first head to head clash of Xavier's two city hurdle champs.  Just wait till outdoors.

1/26 NYCHSAA Varsity Champs-  Varsity takes 3rd behind Fordham and Mount.  Score 33 points ( most ever).  Matt Redden wins 1600 convincingly. Score in all 3 relays,  big performances in the field events.

1/26- NYCHSAA Frosh Champs-  Freshmen place 4th behind some great performances.  Justin Mascall gets Frosh 55 Dash Record.  They score in 9 events

1/18- Stanner Games- Soph SMR ties School Record, and Ed Cullen Grabs school record in Soph 55 Hiurdles. Impressive miles by Batista and Peterson

1/11 Fordham Prep Development Meet #3-  Dan Blanco has huge pr in Shot and Jamie Peralta wins the Frosh Mile.  Results to come

1/11 Hispanic Games- Matt Redden pr's in the 3200, Soph 800 Relay take home plaques. 

1/6 Millrose Time Trials-  Tough Luck for Varsity A as Zimm is tripped up, but 16 runners under 2:20. Impressive effort on all teams.

1/5- NYCHSAA Soph Champs-  Valiant effort by the sophs, placing 3rd. Many Pr's and some outstanding times.  The team scored in 11 out of 14th events.

12/30- Fordham Prep Development Meet #2-  Jamie Peralta takes Frosh 1000 Meter Record from Matt Redden.  Freshman post some very fast times. If you won a medal over break and did not pick it up see Mr. Dormer ASAP.

12/27- Armory Holiday Classic- Big pr's by Frosh and Soph as team shakes up Christmas Vacation.

12/22- Fordham Prep Development Meet #1-  The team brings home 48 medals with some superb performances.

12/21- Bishop Loughlin Games-  3 Varsity Relays compete at this premire event

12/17- NYCHSAA Weight Champs-- LaPiedra, Bernstein, Drennan and Bugati lead the team to a 2nd Place finish.  Impressive races by Brendan O'Neill and Jamie Peralta to capture individual sectional titles.

12/14- CHSAA Relay Carnival.-- Impressive performances as the Team Medals on all Levels.  Soph 800 Relay takes gold.  Nice debut for the Soph Shot Team.

12/7- Ram Relays- The Varsity SMR takes gold behind Caufield's solid 800. Soph DMR takes gold and the newcomers run some impressive times, Freshmen show some competitive spirit.

CROSS COUNTRY SEASON

11/16 Jesuit Champs/ State Federations-  Caufield leads the Varsity to a 4th place finish.  Sprinters prep for indoor.  Redden runs a gutsy race at fedreations.

11/9 CHSAA Champs- Redden hits 13:11 in a valiant effort. Caufield, LaPiedra, Peterson, and Hamilton round out the scoring.  Perlata leads JV A with a 9th place finish and a sub 15:00 time.  Zimmerman and Bernstein in close pursuit. Mike Patti leads the JV B with a 16:15 posting. Many  pr's.  Many pictures taken by Brandon Johnson.

11/3 Marathon Road Race-  Wrong Way Redden places 6th after a 2 minute detour.  Caufield, LaPiedra and Petrullo all score Grand Prix Points.  Evan Bernstien and Disco Andy make their triumphant returns

11/2  Frosh Soph Cities-  Perlata takes 5th overall with a 9:09 pr.  Peterson places 16th to pace the sophs

10/29 Jim Scott 2 mile Challenge-  Redden, Zimmerman and Peralta take the individual honors.  Redden becomes 9th Xavier winner in the 10 year history of the meet.  Jamie Peralta sets the Frosh Meet record.

10/26 NYCHSAA Sectionals- The freshman take 3rd behind outstanding performance by Peralta and Patti who place 2nd and 4th respectivelly.  Redden set new school record over the storied VCP Course

10/23 Mr. and Mrs. Dormer welcome their new addition.  Allison Elizabeth Dormer weighs in at 6 lbs, 13 oz.

10/19 Eastern States- Redden, Caufield and LaPiedra post very competitive times.  The JV is led by Zimmerman and they place 4 guys within 8 seconds of each other.

10/19 Fordham Prep Frosh Relays-  The top 5 frosh take 3rd place best finish since 1997.  B team brings home some hardware as well.

10/15 CHSAA Manhattan Champs- Varsity falls to Regis.  JV and Frosh post big wins.  Frosh sweep top 7.  Caufield breaks 14.

10/12 Manhattan College - Sophs post big win over huge field.  Frosh place 6th out of 40. Mike Patti breaks 10. Caufield Posts big pr

 

10/8 NYCHSAA Sophomore Championships-  Peterson, Hamiliton and O'Neill place in the top 16 to lead Sophs to 2nd place team finish.


10/5 Brewster Invitational-  Freshman Roll, 4 under 10 for 1.6 miles.  Redden takes 5th with a 17:18 for 5k.  Hamiliton leads J.V. to a 3rd place finish with a 6th place.

9/28 McQuaid Invitational-  Redden, Batista, Caufield, and LaPiedra place in top 30 to lead team to 2nd place finish.

9/28- Xavier Invitational-  The Freshman keep on improving.  Juniors show unity.

9/21- Regis Meet-  3 freshman break 10 mins.  Junior Class shows tremendous improvement.  O'Neill and Hamiliton Pace the Sophs.  Batista, Caufield and Lapiedra lead the Varsity into battle

9/14- Practice Meet- John Batista and Nick Peterson lead he team to an unoffical 3 place finish.  T.J. McVeigh leads the Frosh to a 2nd Place finish
