OUTDOOR SEASON Summer Workouts will be mailed the week of 6/7. If you do not receive your workout by 6/16. Email Mr. Dormer or call on of the Cross Country Captains (O'Neill, Hamiliton and Anderson) Senior Alumni BBQ is on 6/11 at 2 p.m. Anyone who owes a uniform, should bring the uniform to school asap. If you do not return your uniform this year you will not get a new one (style)in Sept. 6/1 TEAM DINNER- Dinner was a tremendous Success as over 200 people attend. Block
X Winners were XC - Evan Bernstein, Indoor- Adeola Giwa, and Outdoor( Jim
Scott Award)- Ricardo Velez. 60 Athletes earned their Varsity
Letters this year. 5/31- Eastern States- The season ends on a high note as Giwa runs sub 23 for the 200 3 times in one afternoon. Assent grabs 5th in the 110 Hurdles. Anderson and O'Neill pr in the 3200 Relay. The Sophs post 2nd Fastest time for Soph in the 800 relay. 5/22 CHSAA Champs- Anthony Assent takes 4th and Adeola Giwa grabs 6th. Pr's for many of the Underclassmen. Will Fallon has his best meet yet, he pr'ed by 6 seconds in the 800 and 11 seconds in the 1600. Hamilton breaks 4:40 for the mile. Burgess posts pr in the 400 Hurdles 5/15 NYCHSAA Sectionals- Anthony Assent grabs the Hurdle Crown with an impressive 15.1 Giwa hits 11.0 in the semis of the 100. 5/8 Frosh Soph Cities- T McElroy comes up big, Murtagh takes 5 in the Steeple and the 4x100 takes 3rd place 5/2 Jesuits The Varsity Takes 3rd while the jv grabs second by a 1/2 over Fordham. Adeola Giwa takes the 200, Woerner grabs gold in the 3200. JV throwers sweep 1st 4 places in the Jav. Mike Long gets Iron Man Award for 10 events in a day. 4/28 NYCHSAA Frosh/ Soph Champs- Great meet. Sophs take 4th behind the fleet feet of Mascall, McElroy, Fagan and 800 meter relay all of which placed 2nd in their events. The Freshman show dramatic improvement as Moringiello and Fallan both place 6th in their events. 4/22- Penn Relays- The 1600 Meter relay ran an inspired race as they fought through some tough congesion to claim medals for the 2nd time in the past 10 years. The 400 Relay featured two great legs by the underclassmen. 4/16 Judge Relays- Some great performances by the underclassmen as the get a taste of big time competition. 4/15 NYCHSAA Weight Champs- An understaffed squad takes 3rd in this championships. James Corbo takes 2 gold ( shot, 4x8) Many Freshmen scored in two events. Murtagh drops a huge pr in the 800. 4/13 Iona Prep Invite- Some good performances despite the rain. 4/10 Mount Throws Carnival- 3 of the top 4 throws in the javelin come from Xavier. Pick up 8 medals. 4/10 Christ the King Invite- Mike Long has a big day scoring in both hurdle events. 3200 meter run features 3 big races by Batista, Woerner and Fallon. Juniors Anderson and Hamiliton run great pr's. O'Brien posts 5 sec Pr in 800. 4/8 CHSAA Relay Carnival- Underclassmen begin to score in Varsity Events. Murtagh, Meade, Fagan and Petrullo are sophs that scored in Varsity events. 3x400 Hurdle relay takes 6th posting 3 pr's. Click here for Vacation schedule 4/3- Mount Relays- Some great performances. Aggressive races for the underclassmen 3/30- Fordham Prep Development Meet #1- The underclassmen travelled to VCP to run some impressive times. Throws results coming soon. 3/27- Ford Relays- Some great races to start the outdoor campaign. High Jumpers take 3rd and set school record. Fagan and Content get school record for shot relay, Fagan and Petrullo get Soph Jav relay record. Bierne and Rizzi get Frosh Shot relay record. The Shuttle Hurdle relay takes #2ATX The Cross country results from 1981 are posted. INDOOR SEASON 3/7 Coogan's 5 K- a few brave souls represent Xavier at the annual 5K outing. Ryan Woerner leads the team with a great effort. The results will be finalized as soon as NYRRC gets them all. 2/28 Manhattan College Relays- The High Jump and Long Jump Relays score as a majority of the team steps up to run the 800. Content and Fagan set 2 Man Shot relay record. 2/15- CHSAA City Champs- A great effort by many of the Varsity athletes. Anthony Assent pr's twice making it to the finals of the 55 meter hurdles. The Varsity 800 relay places 7th just missing the finals. 2/9- Varsity Classic- Evan Bernstein runs a 2:02 for the 800 in the final tune up before City Champs. Every lap was within 1.2 seconds of each other. Will Imbert becomes the 2nd man to clear 6' in the High Jump 2/7 Freshman and Sophomore CHSAA Championships- Matt Muratore ran a great 1000 meters to place 5th and helped the 3200 relay to 5th place medals as well. Matt Bennett lead the field team taking 2nd in the high jump, thus qualifying him for Varsity City champs this weekend. Ryan Woerner had two tremendous pr's in both the 1600 and 3200.Steve Crupi and Luca Prescutti ran great lead off legs for their respective 3200 meter relays. Tim McElroy takes the Soph School record in the 300 and just misses making the final. (3 ths of a second) 1/25 NYCHSAA Championships 1/18- Jesuits - A Great Effort as a team. 3 man High Jump Relay record is set. Submidget Relays posts 2nd fastest time in school history. Evan Bernstein has a great double. Adeola Giwa breaks 23 sec for the 200 meters. 1/11 Hispanic Games- Jermaine Alexander makes school history by being the 1st Son of Xavier to soar over 6'. Ricardo Velez is recognized as a leader of tomorrow. Click Here to see the award. 1/12 Fordham Prep Development Meet #3-John Content throws over 40', 1st Xavier thrower to do so since 1996, Furthest throw by a Sophomore in about 30 years. Tedesco hit fastest time by a frosh in the mile this year. 1/7 Millrose TT- A great effort by all 7 teams. 1/4- NYCHSAA Soph Champs- A great team effort. Multiple scorers in many events. McElroy runs 3rd fastest time ATX in the 300 for a Soph. 1/2 Novice and Weight Champs- Content takes 5th in shot with a 39' throw. The 1600 relay takes 5th as well. Meade and Gannon go 1-2 in Weight High Jump 12/29-12/30- Brown Relays. The team collects 11 medals in 3 events. Some great performance. Pottinger breaks 35 feet for 3 throws. 12/26- Fordham Prep Development Meet #2- Bernstein continues his winning ways taking the 1000 meters. The team collects 81 medals 12/21- Fordham Prep Development Meet #1- Evan Bernstein leads the team with a great win in the mile. Will Imbert jumps 5'10" to win the High Jump 12/18- Christmas Practice Schedule- 12/17 NYCHSAA Weight Champs- Matt Muratore grabs the gold and sets the school record in the Submidget 400, Brendan O'Neill wins the Midget 800 Meters. Jack Meade jumps 5'0" for 3rd place. 12/13 CHSAA Relays- Great races to start the season. Some fantastic performances, especially among the field events. Mullen has a 5 foot pr in the shot. School Records in Vars LJ relay, Soph Shot Relay, Vars Shot Relay. 12/6 Ram Relays MEET CANCELLED CROSS COUNTRY SEASON 11/15- Jesuits Champs- Great races on all levels to round out a good season. Congrats to The JV team which captured 2nd Place. 11/8 CHSAA City Champs- Nick Peterson leads the Varsity to a 10th place finish. Brendan O'Neill Leads the JV a with a personal best of 15:07 and Ralph Balbi leads the JV B with a pr of 15:56 11/2 Marathon Road Race- John Batista leads a large contingent of Xavier runners in this event. Evan Bernstein makes his network TV debut.

10/25 NYCHSAA Championships- The Varsity and Frosh grab 5th and the JV takes 4th with some impressive races by all. Fallon breaks 10. All 5 Frosh scorers within 29 seconds. Bobby Casey has big drop. Donachie breaks 15:50. Click Here for Pictures 10/18 Eastern States- Entire Varsity Team breaks 15 for first time this year , all of them pr. Two JV team place with some impressive times. 10/18 Molloy JV Meet- Rafael Balbi leads this crew with a huge pr of 25 seconds. 10/18 Fordham Prep Frosh Relays- Frosh A team posts 5th fastest time in school history. Great efforts all around 10/11 Manhattan College Invitational- Some great times as the Varsity had 4 guys under 15 for the first time this year. Sophs continue to improve as top 4 post pr's. 2 Freshmen break the 10 barrier as Tedesco drops 1 minute from his time.. 10/7 NYCHSAA Soph Champs- Murtagh and Muratore pace the team as 75% of the Sophs pr. The team takes 3rd on some great team running as top 6 run pr's 10/4 Brewster Bear Invitational- The underclassmen run tough as the Frosh Take 4th and 4 Sophs score in the JV Race. Bernstein and Batista pace the Varsity 9/27 McQuiad Invitational- Underclassmen carry the day as Hamiliton Peterson and Murtagh pace the team. Big sign of improvement as team runs together. 9/27 Xavier Invitational- 5 Freshmen dip below 11 mins with Bilger knocking at the door. John Batista runs his best of the season. Largest meet of the year at VCP so far. Over 1000 Runners. 9/20 Regis Invitational - Hamilton and Peterson lead the way for the Varsity, Batista and Fallon pace the Frosh. A good start to the season, 13 Medals 9/13 CHSAA Practice Meet- Impressive times turned in by the younger runners. A good start to the season. |
