11/30
Regionals-
It was cold at the park but that did not stop the knights from ending the
season on a high note. The JV took the ourse and placed 3rd
Lead by a fast time by Colin O'Shea who snagged a Regionals T Shirt for
his effort. 24 seconds seperated all 5 scorers. In the
Championship race, youth was served as the Sophs run big. A solid
showing as the Varsity Knights finish 11th as a squad

11/23 Federation
Championships- A great effort by the team as we finish Top
10. The Soph trio step up big in their first Federation meet. The race is
tight and the course was muddy as the Knights get some valuable experience
11/16 Jesuit
Championships- The Freshman end the season with great victory
over our Jesuit brothers 2nd year in a row. It was a real team
effort as the freshmen put 11 under 10 on the day and use their depth to
secure the victory. The JV A team from a week ago takes on the
Varsity squads from the other 7 jesuit school and place 2nd as a team. The
squad was led by Calivin Flett and Colin O'Shea who run their best races
of the year. The JV B takes 2nd in a great team race in the JV
showing just how deep we are as a squad.

11/9 CHSAA
Championships- Historical that is the only word that can describe
what happened on Saturday. The Knights came ready to race on this
day. The day started with the Alumni winning the Annual CHSAA Alumni race
in convincing fashion placing 2 in the top 3 of the race. Then the
real show started. The first race for the Knights was the JV C race
and we had a large number of Freshmen running the course for the first
time. They helped set the tone for the day as 4 of them placed in
the top 13 of their race. The most impressive time for the JV C race
was turned in by junior Aidan McMahon who dropped a whopping 1:40 of his
previous best time going from 17:44 to 16:04 when it counted the
most. These performances would lead us to a win in the JV race as we
scored 32 points. Next up was the Varsity, who were picked to finish
2nd by Milesplit, but they would not be denied. Oliver
Branham-Upton, returning from an injury drops a personal best of 12:53
#4ATX to take 3rd place and then the flood gates opened 7 Knights in
the top 21 of the race. We put 4 across the line before any other
team had 3 runners in and 7 runners finish before any other team gets 4 to
the finish. We end up with a 5 man average of 13:19. For the 9th year in a
row the Knights of 16th Street will be going to the NY State Federation
meet. (12th time in school history) (1999,
2000, 2007,
2011, 2012,
2013, 2014,
2015, 2016,
2017, 2018)
3rd time in the last 4 years that the Knights win the CHSAA
Championship. Next up was our JV A team and they were ready to
roll, They put 4 guys in the top 6 of the race and score a mere 26
points. MacAllister Whiting leads the charge with a personal best of
14:04 and the individual crown (not bad for an Eagle scout) This squad
just simply dominated the field. The last race of the day saw a
Squad of all underclassmen wanted to get in on the action. Guinazu,
Corcoran and Crabbe go 1-2-3 and lead the squad to victory with a score of
20. Frosh Nick Hasting clocks a 15:02 to take 6th and Leo Carolan
runs 15:04 for 8th. Those top 7 guys in the B race earn their Varsity
letters on the day. So the final tally was 5 races, 5 wins, 2
individual title and the championship trophy back where it belongs on 16th
street.

11/2- CHSAA
Freshman and Sophomore Intersectional Championships- The day
started off cold and clear. Things started to heat up when the Freshman A
race toed the line. After knocking on the door for 2 races in a row,
Nick Hastings broke 9 mins to post a top 20 time ATX Frosh. The
freshman would finish 4th in the A race with some tight pack
running. The B race was led by Matt McCabe who dropped an huge
personal best to go sub 10 mins. So did Cayden Humphries who posted
a 9:59. They would finish 3rd. Lucas Pia led the C team to a
3rd place finish as well. The Sophomores were up next and they were
ready to roll. Following a team first plan, the team put 4 guys in
the top 8 and 7 guys in the top 19 pof the race. When the dust
settled they had captured the CHSAA Sophomore State title. Our 3rd
such title in the past 5 years. They also posted the 2nd lowest
point total in meet history. The rest of the Sophomores were up next
as the B team took the race by storm. They would go 1-2-3-7-9 to
secure the win. Leo Carolan wins the B race in style. A great
day in the park.

10/26 NYCHSAA
Sectional and City Champs-The knights take the 2 Gold plaques and
2 Silver plaques home from VCP. First up were the Freshmen and in
the A race they ran as a team. They Place 7 guys across the line in
30 seconds Just what you need to win as a team. Followed up by
the B team who tied for the title with Fordham Prep. The Varsity
loses a close battle to Fordham Prep and takes 2nd. The JV left no
question about who was going to win the race as they score 21
points. Thanks to the parents of the class of '20 for organizing a
great picnic and celebration.

JV all smiles after some great races

10/16 Sophomore
Sectionals and City Champs-At VCP For the 7th time in the
past 8 years, The Xavier Sophs win the Sectional crown and this year they
add the Sophomore City Title. It was a mansoon out there but that
did not stop the Knights from running a complete team race as they put 5
in the top 10 of the race. Great team effort

10/12 Burnt
Hills Invite- Beautiful weather, historic setting and a
group of knights who can ready to race. The JV B set the stage with
a dominating win scoring a near perfect 16 points. Corcoran and Guinazu
run the race together and cross the line half a second a part. They put 7
guys in the top 12 of the race. We had 7 guys before any other team
had 2 runners across the line. In JV A, we put 7 guys across in the top 8
of the race scoring 17 points. 17 seconds seperate runners 2-7 talk
about a team race. Quincy Flett runs a great race for his first race
of the season. In the Varsity Race the team runs faster than they
did at McQuaid over a longer course. Branham Upton lowers his school
record for the course. Overall a great weekend upstate.

Nick Hastings'23 for the Win
10/11 All
Hallows Invite- It is always difficult to race after a busy
school day, but the Freshmen did not seem to be phased by the long day as
they drop the hammer on the competion. 7 Freshmen in the top 12 of the
race (5 in the top 9) Nick Hasting takes the race with an massive
personal best. Ashani Williams leads the upperclassmen to a 5th

team race to win the JV race. O'Shea and Goell cross the line
together going 2nd and 3rd. They put 6 guys in the top 13 and 8 in the top
30. The Sophs run great and take 7th as a team. Lead by Corcoran and
Guinazu as they finish top 30 in the largest race of the day. The
Varsity ends up in the fastest race of the day. OBU leads the squad with a
15:20 as we end up 4th as a team. (8th on the merge)
9/26 FP
Dev Meet - It was hot then it was rainy, and then the Knights rain
some great times
9/21
Xavier Invitational- It was hot out there on Saturday and the
Knoghts burned up the course. We won 2 of the 4 races we were in and
had two seniors win their races. Some personal best and many gutsy
performances as the knights battle the heat and large races.

9/14 Warwick Wave
Mania- What a great way to start the season. The JV
starts the season with a solid performance lead by Goell, Oettl, Toledo
and Brush all who broke 18 mins, they take 2nd Place. In the Varsity

teams went our way as we were able to win 32-62. We placed 5 scorers
in the top 11 of the race. The freshman show they are ready to race
as they take 2nd place. The Frosh prove they are tough as they
warmed up in the rain.
