XAVIER CROSS COUNTRY  2008 
The day started with Frosh A running one of the most inspired races of the year. They all ran faster than every before and they charged to the finish. All 5 scorers were under 10 minutes ( all 7 under 10:20) The B team and C team set out to match this great effort and match it they did. As a result, all 3 Freshmen squads had a top 10 finish.  Not to be outdone the Sophomores took to the hills. The sophomores improved on their sectional finish by beating Iona Prep and finishing as the 4th NYCHSAA team. Lead once again by Ivan Caesar, 4 Sophs were again under 16:00.They also improved over their finish as Freshmen, they moved up to 8th from 13th last year. The B Team went out and on the strength of 6 PR's took 5th Place in their championship race. Overall the future looks bright for the Xavier XC Squad.

Medal COunt With these 9 medals the season total rises to 174

MIP: Today saw a tremendous number of personal records (PR). A number of freshmen had improvements of over a minute. As a team we saw 27 out of 39 runners run their best time of the season. (69%). The sophomores improved on their sectional finish by beating Iona Prep and finishing as the 4th NYCHSAA team. They also improved over their finish as Freshmen, they moved up to 8th from 13th last year. The freshmen posted one of the fastest 5 man averages in school history. To put it in perspective, 4 years ago we finished 2nd as a team in the Frosh Champs, that year we averaged 9:35. Today we averaged 9:36 and we placed 9th. everyone ran great
