XAVIER OUTDOOR TRACK  2009 
History was made, records fall, a great day for the knights. The Day started with an inspired race by Chris Delorenzo who posted the #5ATX Soph time for the 3000 steeplechase.  It started heating up from there, John Maiocco took 3rd in the 2000 meter steeplechase, Giancarlo Schillaci took 4th in the 400 hurdles.  The points began to come in fast as Gabe Spooner won the 400 in school record time (old record   B. Saa 55.4 1972), and Henry Lowe grabs 3rd with a pr.  Jon Koonce grabs his CHSAA Title by breaking the school record in the 800 meters ( old record P. Connolly, 2:08.0 1966). Koonce would later come back and lead the 3200 meter relay to a 3rd place finish. Gabe Spooner comes back to win the 200 meters in school record time( old record, K Mesidor  23.7 2008) and with that win clinches the MVP Honors for the meet.  Not to be outdone, the Field events grabbed 3 individual titles on the Frosh level.  Ed Wagner took the Long Jump with a personal best of 19'4". Gino Giglio wins both the Shot and the Discus in school Records. ( Old records Shot  G Turczyn 46'2" 1974, Discus D. Cassidy 90'0" 1976).  On the Soph Side, Chris Kelly wins the Discus, Gabe Delaney takes 5th.  In the Shot Justin Warren takes 2nd place and breaks the 40' barrier. Keith Mesidor scores in 2 evenst the Long Jump and the 200.  Andrew Cheah leads the charge in the 110 Hurdles grabbibg 4th place, while Zach LaRock comes from behind to grab 5th place and a much needed point.  All the details are here.  What a great day at Randall's Island
