Everybody talks about the football season, but The Team Formerly Known as the Kaydets... and then the Bruins... (Est. 1882) actually plays threeseasons of football every autumn.  The first is the New York Catholic High School Football League regular season, which ended last weekend.  The Knights did well, finishing in second place behind undefeated Christ the King in the CHSFL's nine-team AA Conference with a 6-1 record (7-1 overall).

The second season, officially known as the CHSFL playoffs, begins this Saturday when the Knights open against the sixth-place Firebirds of Kellenberg Memorial (2-5; 3-5) in the AA Conference Quarterfinals at Aviator Field Where the Lion sleeps.  https://www.youtube.com/watch? v=F6emGGwGqhI

Hostilities commence at 7:00 PM 16th Street (Indian Summer) Time.

Aviator Field is located at Brooklyn's historic Floyd Bennett Field on Flatbush Avenue, just off the Belt Parkway (Exit 11S) and across the Gil Hodges/Marine Parkway Bridge from the Rockaways and Breezy Point— that fogbound coast known to U-boat commanders, rum runners and Royal Navy press gangs alike as The Irish Riviera.

Directions from any corner of the galaxy to Aviator Field can be found at http://www.aviatorsports.com/ directions/  and http://departments.xavierhs. org/athletics/football/ 2015webpage/trinity/ aviatordirections.htm

Parking at Aviator is ample, free and secure.  There is a sports bar on the premises of the adjacent building (second floor) and food concessions at the field.

P.S. And what about "the third season"?  (You are, no doubt, asking yourselves.)  Come on out to Aviator Field on Thanksgiving morning and I'll tell you all about it.
