From West Islip, Long Island comes word that the Xavier Varsity fell to St. John the Baptist 6-0 this afternoon.  Tim Tweedy '82 filed this dispatch from Cougar Field:

 

Heavy wind and rain.  Defense played tough.  O was doing well.  Long run to the two-yard line, then a turnover.  Then more turnovers. 

We got some of them, but Baptist had a lot less than Xavier. 

Same story in the third quarter.  No Xavier pass completions, so Baptist had eleven in the box until the last couple of sets. 

We got some breaks in the fourth quarter but could not convert them into points.  The O stayed in the game, but still....

 

We could have had 'em.  Tough loss.
