Xavier defeated A Division rival Cardinal Spellman this week 61-12.
Junior Seamus Kelly amassed 176 yards on only 9 carries for an
average of 19.5 yards per carry. Actually,
Seamus scored on each of Xavier’s first two offensive plays on runs of
29 and 48 yards to really set the tone of the game.
On Xavier’s 8 play forth scoring drive, Seamus had runs of 18 and
13 yards and plunged in for his third score (Xavier’s fourth) on a 3
yard run up the middle. Seamus
also started at Weak Safety on defense and had 6 tackles during the game.
Class Honors:
Seamus has a 90 average at Xavier and has achieved honor grades in 6 of 8
marking periods (5x 2nd Honors and 1x 1st Honors).
League Honors:
Seamus has been the Xavier Football Team MVP in both his Freshman and
Sophomore Years. Last season,
he helped the Xavier JV to win the “A” division playoff championship
36-14 v.
St. John
the Baptist.
Other Sports &
Honors:
Seamus was the Xavier High School Athlete of the Year in his Freshman
Year. He is also a starter on
Xavier’s 2007 “B” Division National Championship Rugby Team and was
selected as the New Comer of the Year on the Xavier Rugby Team last
season.
