This week Xavier played up in division against
Kellenberg
Memorial
High School
. During the game, Seamus
Kelly had 98 yards on 9 carries and two touchdowns.
He had touchdown runs of 8 yards and 2 yards, but on the second
touchdown he had a 46 yard run to set up the score.
After his second score, he rushed for the two point conversion.
On defense Seamus had 9 tackles and at Middle Linebacker in our
Goaline Defense was instrumental in helping to stop Kellenberg from
scoring touchdowns on three separate series from inside our 10 yardline.
His fumble recovery in the first quarter gave us a short field
which set up our first score. This
is the second week in a row that he has scored 2 touchdowns.
Class
Honors:
Seamus has a 90 average at Xavier and has achieved honor grades in 6 of 8
marking periods (5x 2nd Honors and 1x 1st Honors).
League
Honors:
Seamus has been the Xavier Football Team MVP in both his Freshman and
Sophomore Years. Last season,
he helped the Xavier JV to win the “A” division playoff championship
36-14 v.
St. John
the Baptist.
Other
Sports & Honors:
Seamus was the Xavier High School Athlete of the Year in his Freshman
Year. He is also a starter on
Xavier’s 2007 “B” Division National Championship Rugby Team and was
selected as the New Comer of the Year on the Xavier Rugby Team last
season.
