| Jeff Aime carried 18 times for 191 yards and scored two of his three touchdowns in the second half as St. Francis Prep overcame an 8-0 first-quarter deficit and a 16-16 tie in the third quarter to hold off Xavier, 30-16 in CHSFL football yesterday. Xavier (5-3, 4-3 CHSFL A), trailing 24-16 late in the fourth, had a chance to tie as it drove 65 yards down to the St. Francis Prep 7. But the Knights, facing a second-and-goal, fumbled away the ball and the game. Keith Ferrara had a 43-yard interception for a touchdown and Antonio Troina also had an interception for the Terriers (7-1, 7-0 CHSFL AAA). Amie leads the CHSFL in touchdowns (22) and rushing (1,586). |
